Daniel stands out as a versatile guitarist, composer, and educator, deeply rooted in diverse musical traditions spanning Jazz, Classical, Blues, Rock, and Folk. His proficiency extends across electric, acoustic, and nylon string guitars, backed by nearly four decades of teaching experience. His journey with the guitar began in Wisconsin, where he quickly progressed to songwriting and performing in both bands and solo acts throughout the Midwest and along the East Coast during the 1970s. A pivotal encounter with Sitarist Roop Verma led him to spend several transformative years in India in the 1980s, immersing himself in Indian music, yoga, and meditation.
Upon his return to the United States, Daniel furthered his musical education, earning a BA in guitar from Cornish College of The Arts in Seattle, WA. During his time in Seattle, he also contributed to the local music scene as the owner and instructor at Rosewood Guitar store and studios, alongside performing extensively throughout the greater Seattle area. Since 2000, Daniel has been an active presence in the Raleigh music community, teaching and performing. Now, he brings his wealth of knowledge and experience to Harry’s Guitar Shop, offering expert guitar lessons to students of all levels.
Daniel approaches music education as a personalized journey of discovery for each student. His teaching style is characterized by its directness, relaxed atmosphere, and patience, all aimed at identifying the most effective learning path for every individual. Whether a student is just starting with the foundational notes and chords, or delving into sight reading, ear training, composition, theory, and improvisation, Daniel adeptly guides students across all skill levels at Harry’s Guitar Shop.
